Coach Ashley

This morning I coached my 1st Upwards basketball game of 3rd & 4th grade girls at FBC. I know how hilarious this is since I've never played a game and know little more than the average spectator! But don't worry my awesome brother, Cameron, has come to my rescue and agreed to coach with me. Thankfully!! It was fun and I think we'll really be blessed by this ministry to these girls.

My Baby is Getting Too BIG Too FAST!!!

     When I picked Abram up from school today he got in the car and said "I had the BEST day today!"  I, of course, inquired immediately.  "Good!  What happened?"  "I got a loose tooth!" He exclaimed.
     I cannot believe my precious baby boy is growing up so fast!  It was only yesterday that he got that tooth or so it seems.  I'm fighting back the tears.  I'd keep him young forever if I could but one thing is for sure... He will ALWAYS be my BaBy!!

Fun Times with The A-Team

Tonight we took the boys to the Mineola Nature Preserve to look for deer and hogs, play on the playground and ride their new scooters. This is a favorite activity for our family and always involves us eating at East Tx Burger Co! We had another great night and even saw a bunch of hogs rooting in the field just before dark.

The PERFECT Report Card

Well, our brilliant kindergartener, Abram, brought home ANOTHER perfect report card!!! He got all 3's which is the highest score on the grading rubric, all E's which means ExCeLLeNt and checks for mastery of letters and sounds for the 2nd & 3rd Six Weeks!!! So proud of our smart boy!!! :)

Bedtime

I truly cherish each moment with these little angels of mine. It's bedtime and they've begged for me to sing to them tonight as they often do. I really have to relish in this while I can because soon they will realize that I'm an awful singer! On nights that I grace them with my voice their first request and favorite song is Shout to the Lord. I also usually sing Come Just as You Are, I Could Sing of Your Love Forever, Your Love Oh Lord, Lord You Are, and Jesus,Jesus, There's Just Something about That Name. I hope they are hearing the true message of each song and developing a lasting love for our Savior and not just my beautiful vocals! ;)

Baby Bliss is coming TODAY!

We got the call this morning that Zach and Lauren were on their way to the hospital! We can't wait to meet our sweet Miss Bliss!   Looking forward to an exciting day and adding #16 to our Burgess Bunch!!!

New Year's Day ~ HeLLo 2011!!

Today was so nice!  We just enjoyed being home together all morning and then later in the afternoon we headed to Tyler to take the boys to the movies.  We saw Yogi Bear ~ accompanied by a giant bucket of popcorn, of course!  It was a cute movie and we all enjoyed it.  Then we shopped a bit (per Mommy's request ;).  We finished up the night with the traditional New Year's Day meal of... Cashew Chicken for $$$, General Tso's Chicken for health and fried rice for good luck!  That's right, isn't it?  LoL
